Ryan Giggs and Jamie Carragher are two of only three players in the English Premier League who have played over 500 games for their clubs.

With Steven Gerrard now joining those two, that makes two players now who have reached the 500 mark for Liverpool. Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard can now both boast of the honour of having played 500 games for their club.

Steven Gerrard played out a fairly boring 500th game for his Liverpool club as they left scoreless against an impressive West Brom side who could not score any on the day either.

The Kop sung out as loud as they could for both their departing player, and the whole Liverpool team showed their unbreakable devotion even in the most dullest of circumstances.

With 500 games under his name for Liverpool; Steven Gerrard has clearly earned the right to be called loyal. He earned that mantle some time ago, considering the era we live in.

Loyalty comes with dedication and love for the club you are at. The powerhouse of a player that he is, his achievements over many years make for great reading. In the Premier League he has helped his team fight for the title on several occasions, land a spot in the Champion’s League several times as well as a spot in the Europa League.

All of these achievements wouldn’t have been possible without that signature passing and shooting ability he possesses. He is the guy who regularly clocks up the most passes of any player on the pitch whenever he donned the red.

Steven Gerrard will be missed by many Liverpool fans as he makes his move to the MLS at the end of the season, but the fans can surely be satisfied with the continuous loyalty that Gerrard has given Liverpool over the years despite constant offers for the highly-rated midfielder every transfer window.
