Arsenal have had their fair share of success in the last few decades as a club but trophies continue to allude the side – despite the Gunners showing so much promise.

Arsene Wenger has done his best over the past few years to move Arsenal forward through their youth system and onto the first team side, but it has certainly been a very gradual and tedious process.

The disciplined ripening of the football fruits has just began to pay off, with Arsenal recently managing to challenge for the title just before slipping out of contention with the consolation of targeting a Champions League finish.

Signing new recruits such as Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez has been Arsene Wenger’s way of thanking the fans for their everlasting support throughout the years. While many fans do support Wenger, their frustration must be growing at the lack of trophies.

The fans will hope that recent injury woes will subside and their young guns – along with some new signings – can put them back in the running for another Premier League title. The Gunners are finally in striking distance of the big, cashed-up clubs, who for so long have dominated English football.

However, the question would certainly come into the minds of the fans though as to whether or not Arsene Wenger would be fit to carry out the legacy for the club that he has unfolded in the few months that have gone by.

He has certainly managed to accomplish great endeavours without spending too big unlike other clubs in the English Premier League. But is he the right man to lead Arsenal’s next generation?
