The Junior Australian Kangaroos side was named on Sunday evening to face the Junior New Zealand Kiwis team next Saturday at 3pm from Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

In what is a very good side named for Australia, most of the players either have NRL experience or are fringe first graders. The likes of Robert Jennings, Euan Aitken, Valentine Holmes, Matthew Lodge and Tepai Moeroa have all tasted first grade.

Euan Aitken and Valentine Holmes have both burst onto the scene this season and are being touted as big guns of the future.

Australian halves combination Drew Hutchinson and Ashley Taylor may be yet to taste first grade but are outstanding young players and will be the key to the Australians overcoming the Kiwis.

While the side includes a fair spread of teams, the Broncos (five), the Eels (three), the Dragons (two), the Raiders (two) and the Tigers (two) have multiple representatives in the squad.

The Australian and New Zealand Test squads were also named yesterday, and with plenty of debutants, the future is bright for rugby league in Australia.

Don’t forget you can catch live coverage of all the representative games next weekend right here on The Roar.
