Looking to watch Mayweather vs Pacquiao on TV or stream it online? Or are you looking for a place to find round-by-round updates when the fight starts around 1pm AEST this Sunday 1 May?

You’ve come to the right place, with The Roar‘s guide on how to watch Mayweather vs Pacquiao online and on TV.

TV:
This is the easy one.

Main Event is the sole licensed television broadcaster to be showing the fight in Australia. If you have a Foxtel set top box, you can order the fight at any time this week, or the day of.

Main Event has recommended you get in early to order the fight, as they are expecting orders for the fight to pile up, which may add a delay from the time of ordering to the time of receiving it. The fight will cost $59.95 AUD.

You can order the fight by calling 131 999, on your Foxtel remote, or you can order the fight online here.

Online:
No broadcaster or website in Australia holds the digital broadcasting rights for streaming Mayweather vs Pacquiao online. If you want to watch the fight on your computer or device, you’re fresh out of luck.

While Foxtel do offer streaming services for computers and devices, Foxtel Play and Foxtel Go, neither will have Mayweather-Pacquiao streaming on Main Event.

We spoke to Main Event prior to the fight, who confirmed the fight is only available on set top boxes, and that digital streaming was something being looked at for future fights.

They confirmed it wouldn’t be available on Play or Go.

There has been some controversy stirred up by users of the social media platform Periscope, which is a service that allows users to stream their devices capturing video. Some people have suggested on Twitter that in the absence of digital rights for the fight being distributed in the USA or Australia, they would turn to Periscope to watch streams of the fight which would likely flaunt copyright laws.

We can’t recommend this as an option for users, and it is likely broadcasters will adopt a heavy-handed approach to anyone who does attempt to stream it.

Main Event said that the lack of digital rights being sold had a lot to do with security of online platforms, which is why the fight would only be distributed through Pay-per-view.

Other options:
There is no licensed radio broadcaster of the fight at this stage.

The Roar will have a live blog of the fight with blow-by-blow details, round updates and the results as soon as they come through. We’ll put the link to the fight as soon as the blog is live on this page.

Enjoy the fight everyone!
