Brisbane Roar face up to their final Asian Champions League hurdle this evening, as they face Japanese side Urawa at Suncorp Stadium.
Join us for live scores of the match from 7:00pm AEST, and feel free to leave a comment in the section below on the game.
Roar will be hoping to get something out of their season after they went down to Adelaide United in the Elimination final on Friday night, 2-1.
They will need something close to a miracle, however, needing a huge victory, and also relying on Suwon Samsung to beat current Group G leaders Beijing Guoan to move into the next round of the tournament.
The two matches will be played simultaneously, so they will know their fate, either way, by the end of the game.
It will take something to the tune of six goals to get them through to the next round, but it hasn’t discouraged Roar players from holding out some hope.
Roar midfielder Luke Brattan said the side’s full focus was on this fixture.
“We’re disappointed but in good spirits and looking forward to tomorrow night.
“We are out of the A-League now so all focus is on this game.”
The side endured a disappointing from the A-League finals, after sneaking in due to Perth Glory’s elimination from the tournament.
Fans should expect marquee man Thomas Broich to line up for the match, despite copping a nasty knock against Adelaide.
Frans Thijssen was coy on who would take the field in any position, and will reveal the side just before kickoff.
“We have to score a couple of goals and of course that’s not easy, when you’re thinking like that but it’s the only way for us to reach the next round,” Thijssen said.
“We have to play attacking football without losing the organisation – that’s very important.”
Can the Roar pull of a miracle? Or will we see an ACL finals series with no Aussie team?
