Queensland playmaker Johnathan Thurston is confident Justin Hodges and Greg Inglis will bounce back ahead of next week’s State of Origin opener despite the star centres again being notable absentees at a Maroon session today.
Hodges has a foot wound and Inglis a virus and both did not take part in a pool session.
However in encouraging signs veteran Billy Slater appears to be recovering well from a shoulder complaint ahead of Wednesday night’s Origin I in Sydney.
The Maroons are already reeling from the loss of bench utility Daly Cherry-Evans to injury.
