It was the Queensland Maroons that drew first blood through a great try from Cooper Cronk in the opening game of the 2015 State of Origin series, however it did not take long for the home side to respond.

Just minutes after Queensland opened up an early 6-0 lead, the NSW Blues got on the attack from their defensive end as Josh Dugan broke the lines, making a dashing run down the ground.

He would finish his contribution to the attack with a brilliant kick to the running Josh Morris.

Morris put in a fantastic run, racing on to the dribbling ball setting himself up to run in the try, as the Blues plugged the early Queensland momentum.

The Blues would miss the conversion, but go on to score one more try before halftime to secure a 10-6 lead at halftime.
