In our last episode of transfers we could see come July, we have a look at some more of the biggest names in football. Are your favourite players on the move?

Once again Manchester United and Arsenal dominate our transfer news. No wonder since they need better players and squad depth to challenge for the title.

Let’s kick straight into it.

Alexandrè Lacazette to Arsenal – 35-40 million pounds
The French striker destroyed the Ligue 1 this season, racking up an impressive 27 league goals and earning himself the Golden Boot. Interest in him has been high with reports that french rivals Paris Saint-Germain are interested if they sell Cavani. But most of the interest is coming from England and it’s the Gunners who are in the transfer news again.

Many critics have argued that the reason Arsenal cannot challenge for the title is because they do not have a strike force good enough to compete.

Giroud is a great player, scoring 18 goals in all competitions this season, but if you compare him to the likes of Aguero and Diego Costa, he seems like a small fish in a big pond.

He is likely to go for a heavy price and Arsenal could sell Giroud to fund the price tag for his fellow countryman. Can this be the answer to Arsenal’s title challenge?

Xavi to PSG (on loan from Al-Saad) including a fee of 4 million pounds
The La Liga waved a teary goodbye to one of Spain’s most delightful and prolific footballers. His career spanned for a 17 years for the Spanish champions Barcelona, in that time he has racked up eight La Liga titles, two Copa Del Reys, three Champions Leagues, six Supercopa de Espanãs, two Uefa Super Cups, two Club World Cups and of course the prestigious FIFA World Cup in 2010.

He has then moved on to a new challenge, joining Qatari club Al-Saad at the end of the season.

Rumours are suggesting that Ligue 1 winners PSG are in the hunt to get the Spanish maestro on loan. This of course will fill the gap for the departing Italian Marco Veratti.

This comes as no coincidence as PSG are owned by Qatari businessman Naser AL-Khelaifi, who also is a shareholder in the club in which Xavi has joined. Could we see one of the best Spanish players ever dominate another top league?

Morgan Schneiderlin to Arsenal – 15-17 million pounds
Another Frenchman rumoured to be linking with Arsenal – the Saints super holding midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin. The 25-year old appeared in 25 games this season scoring five goals and setting up four.

Unfortunately his season was cut short in April against Tottenham where he suffered a knee injury, ruling him out for the rest of the season.

Arsenal’s midfield is quite strong, with talent like Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla. Their current holding midfielder, 24-year old Francis Coquelin, has broken onto the scene this season making 26 appearances.

Scheniderlin would be an upgrade from Coquelin. Despite being in second spot for the league’s tackle stats and superior interceptions (3.1 per game compared to Nemanja Matic 2.1) he has more first team experience, and with his talent deserves to be playing in Europe after Southampton’s explosive season.

Petr Cech to AS Roma – 8-10 million pounds
The Chelsea legend has dropped off the first team picture this season with the return of Belgian Thibaut Courtois from his loan at Atletico Madrid which saw him win the La Liga with the Madrid side.

Cech had minimal game-time this season, making 16 appearances and only 6 of them coming in the league.

Interest has been high from the Italian club with current goalkeepers Morgan De Sanctis, 38, and 37-year-old Bogdan Lobont getting on. Both keepers are veterans but they are getting on and fresh, younger faced recruits are needed.

Although Cech putting on a different club’s jersey may take some time to get used to on account of the shot stopper serving 11 years between the sticks of the EPL champions, he is still a superb keeper. At 33 he is still young for a keeper and deserves to be playing week in week out.

Whatever the decision, Chelsea, the clubs fans and neutrals alike will respect it.

Dani Alves to Manchester United – 7-11 million pounds
The Brazilian full-back has been linked to a move away from Blaugrana throughout the season.

Barcelona reportedly tried to extend his contract earlier this season. Josep Maria Bartomeu, the Barcelona president, “I’d rather not get into the state of negotiations, but Dani wants to remain and Barca wants him to stay.”

These accusations have since faded with Alves saying that the club does not respect him, he accused Barcelona of not valuing him in contract negotiations and launched an attack through the media.

United are in for the 31 year-old who would fit into the right back position perfectly, with Rafael not fitting in to LVG’s first team image. A big name defender could add some defensive structure and power to the squad.

There is the last episode of transfers. Let me know if you want me to do another one, especially if you have enjoyed engaging in summer transfer speculation.
