Match preview:

The young Greater Western Sydney Giants will continue their quest for a maiden AFL finals appearance when they meet the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium. Join The Roar from 4:30pm (AEST) for live coverage.

This clash between two of the AFL’s rising powers looks to be one of the best matches of the round.

The Bulldogs are coming off the back of three consecutive losses compared with the Giants’ three consecutive wins, and the Bullies need to step up considerably.

The Giants, having only lost two games so far this season, may be the form team of the competition.

This match seems like the perfect time for the Bulldogs to rack up another win and the best moment for the Giants’ flight to end.

It will be a big test for Tom Boyd after being subbed out against Melbourne due to Jesse Hogan terrorising the young forward. It will also be the first time the Bulldogs’ newest members comes up against his old club.

Adding to one of the AFL’s newest rivalries, GWS boosted their list in the off-season with former Bulldogs captain and midfielder Ryan Griffen. Although he will not feature in this game, there is no doubt his signing will add to the tension between the two clubs.

Prediction
Bulldogs by 14.
