Inglis ready to go after break

A much-needed break from rugby league has Greg Inglis primed and fully fit ahead of the Rabbitohs’ NRL clash with the Warriors in Perth on Saturday.

Inglis was unable to finish Souths’ 22-16 over Gold Coast due to a concussion last weekend, three days after climbing out of a hospital bed to play in Queensland’s State of Origin series-opening win at ANZ Stadium last Wednesday.

The fullback had a bout of tonsillitis leading into the win over the Blues and admits it was hard going and his break after Saturday’s win over the Titans came at a good time.

“My energy pretty much got sapped out of me in the second half,” Inglis said of Origin I.

“It was challenging and I’m just blessed that we got through and walked away with the win.

“A couple of days off to refresh after spending a couple of days in hospital and coming with concussion … it’s refreshed my mind and body and I feel 100 per cent fit and ready to go.”
