It is almost time for State of Origin II. This game will either wrap up the series for the Maroons or will the Blues be able to bounce back from their one point defeat in Origin I.

There have been a few changes to both sides ahead of the second game. There were some rookies in Origin I for the Blues and after some experience and the inclusion of last year’s player of the series, Paul Gallen and the Australian winger Brett Morris the NSW Blues are looking even stronger.

STATE OF ORIGIN LIVE SCORES – GAME 2

As a result of these changes Josh Jackson moves to the bench and Sharks prop Andrew Fifita and Roosters winger Daniel Tupou miss out on Game 2 selection.

For the Maroons a forced change has been made due to a knee injury sustained by halfback Cooper Cronk therefore ruling him out for Game 2 with Manly halfback Daly Cherry-Evans coming in as a straight swap in their only change for game two.

Here are the teams for game two.

1. Josh Dugan, 2. Brett Morris, 3. Josh Morris, 4. Michael Jennings, 5. Will Hopoate, 6. Mitchell Pearce, 7. Trent Hodkinson, 8. James Tamou, 9. Robbie Farah , 10. Aaron Woods, 11. Beau Scott, 12. Ryan Hoffman, 13. Paul Gallen (c)

Queensland team for State of Origin Game 2:
1. Billy Slater, 2. Darius Boyd, 3. Greg Inglis, 4. Justin Hodges, 5. Will Chambers, 6. Johnathan Thurston, 7. Daly Cherry-Evans, 8. Matt Scott, 9. Cameron Smith (c) 10. Nate Myles, 11. Aidan Guerra, 12. Sam Thaiday, 13. Corey Parker

Interchange: 14. Michael Morgan, 15. Josh McGuire, 16. Matt Gillett, 17. Jacob Lillyman

The MCG is expected to be at full capacity with the Maroons supporter base. This game is vital for NSW to stay in the series and Queensland will look to wrap up the series ahead of game three.

My prediction
This will be another close affair. NSW will be determined as ever to fight back. Queenslandweren’t at there best in Game 1 and the Blues goal-line defence saved them on many occasions. With the majority of support behind them and Johnathan Thurston likely to have a big game in the absence of Cronk the Blues intensity won’t be enough to match the Maroons attack. Queenslandby 8
