Can 22nd seed Australian Samantha Stosur fight off her previous Wimbledon demons and progress to the third round when she takes on the world number 107 from Poland Urszula Radwanska in her second round match up? Find out as The Roar brings you live scores of this match from 8:30pm (AEST)

In the first round of Wimbledon 2015, both players recorded smashing wins in straight sets and neither player looked challenged as they advanced into the second round to set this match up. Stosur came up against Danka Kovinic, recording a demoralising 6-4, 6-4 victory.

She played brilliant tennis and never let Kovinic into the match, and this sort of form will really leave her in a good frame of mind coming into her second round clash with Radwanska.

Meanwhile, Radwanska had an even better first round victory, defeating Edina Gallvotis 6-2, 6-1. Despite her low ranking a win like that will give Radwanska untold confidence heading into a match she is expected to struggle in against Stosur.

In saying that, Radwanksa could potentially struggle against the much fancied and higher ranked Stosur. It must be noted that Stosur really does not like Wimbledon. Her record there does not make for pretty reading when you consider out of 12 attempts there, on six occasions she has been knocked out in the first round and that she has never made it past the third round.

It is a stat like this that makes you fear we could be in for a massive boil-over this evening.

It can also be noted that Stosur’s form coming up to Wimbledon was non existent, having played one game at Eastbourne in the lead up which resulted in a shocking straights set loss. For her to come out like she did on Monday night and play like that shows she is in the right head space and looks to be ready to reverse her shocking fortunes at Wimbledon.

Radwanska meanwhile has had five cracks at Wimbledon, with a second round exit being her best performance, which has happened on three occasions. In fact looking at her results from all the other grand slams, she has never made it out of the second round, so a victory against Stosur in this second round match would mean she makes an achievement she never has before.

Since the grass court season kicked off, Radwanksa has played two tournaments on grass in Hertogenbosch and Birmingham. In the tournament at Hertogenbosch she recorded some low-key wins before being knocked out by Annika Beck. At Birmingham she was knocked out by Timea Babos, who has also made the second round of the tournament and takes on Serena Williams this evening.

The games that Radwanksa won, she absolutely dominated, and therefore she will be confident of taking the challenge to Stosur. Grass is also Radwanksa’s best surface by far, with an almost 65 per cent win-rate.

Prediction: It is very hard to see how Stosur could lose this game, however Radwanska will certainly make her work hard for it and probably steal either the first or second set.

Stosur in two sets.
