The 2014-15 season for Liverpool was a little bit shaky. Coming off the back of a solid 2013-14 season which just saw Liverpool miss out on the league title, everyone expected Brendan Rodgers’ men to have a satisfying season in all competitions.

But a poor performance in the transfer window and obviously the loss of Luis Suarez to Barcelona saw Liverpool just fall short of a Champions League position.

If Liverpool are to be serious title contenders they should inject some youth into the club.

Dani Carvajal (Real Madrid)
A man who has really impressed in recent seasons. The 25-year-old has proved himself and has gotten that first choice right full-back position over Alvaro Arbeloa. With the recent purchase of Brazilian fullback Danilo for Real Madrid, however, Carvajal may be looking for an exit.

Liverpool are in desperate need for a first team quality full-back due to the departure of Glen Johnson. Although reports say that Liverpool are close to signing Nathaniel Clyne*, I don’t see this move happening and I believe Carvajal is a better option for Liverpool

Aiser Illarramendi
There are already rumours circulating about the young Spaniard joining the Reds this July. Illarramendi is in desperate need of some first team football and when you have a youngster like him it seems unfair to compare him with midfield legends like Luka Modric or Toni Kroos. I would expect to see a move for him this July and I am sure Liverpool are hot contenders.

Ciro Immobile
Although Liverpool have many strikers through the club, you cannot say any of them performed to an outstanding level last season. It makes sense why, Suarez’s boots were always going to be very hard to fill.

Ciro was up against Adrian Ramos, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and even at times Shinji Kagawa for Borussia Dortmund’s striker position and although seven goals and one assist is not highly praiseworthy, I would say it shows the young Italian has talent. I can see a possible deadly duo between Daniel Sturridge and Immobile.
