Rafael Nadal faces a potentially tricky opponent as he faces grass court specialist Dustin Brown in the 2nd round of Wimbledon. Join The Roar for live scores of the match from around 1:30am AEST.

On his day Dustin Brown can trouble anyone on grass.

His game, which is a traditional serve and volley one, can trouble the best players in the game.

In 2013, against Lleyton Hewitt at Wimbledon, he showed that as he blew away the Aussie in four sets.

That performance, which got him to the third round, is still his best result in a Grand Slam.

He has a chance to repeat that against an opponent he has beaten on this surface tonight.

Last year, in Halle, he smashed Nadal 6-4 6-1 in the Round of 16 on his way to a quarter final appearance.

He has followed that up with a solid grass season this year with a Round of 16 appearance in Halle and qualifying for the Stuttgart ATP event.

At Wimbledon, he qualified with three straight sets wins, and followed that up with a four set win over Yen-Hsun Lu.

Now he faces Nadal who has also had a solid grass season.

Nadal won in Stuttgart but lost in the first round in Queens to Alexandr Dolgopolov in three sets.

He followed that up with a first round win in Wimbledon to Thomaz Bellucci.

Today’s match will be far more difficult for Nadal, with Brown a better player on the surface.

In the last match between the two, his tactics rattled the then world number 1.

He dominated at the net and Nadal couldn’t get his game going.

If Brown can do that again then he can upset the 10th seed tonight.

This match will be closer than people think. At times Brown will control the match and win sets.

Can he do it for five sets though? That is the big question.

I don’t think he can and Nadal will just survive a marathon match. Don’t be surprised though if an upset occurs tonight.

Prediction: Nadal 3-2
