This match is going to be extremely difficult for Andreas Seppi. The Italian needs to try and restrict Murray’s backhand and defend his line on first serve, he will need to keep an eye on varied spin. Seppi will also need to be wary of hitting too many passing shots, if he wants to come on net he must come in on a good approach to win a point. Seppi must bring everything in to this game.

Put simply, Murray is one of the best players on the tour and at home with support he is even better. The 3rd ranked Scotsman must play to his strengths, not to Seppi’s weaknesses.

Seppi and Murray have met on seven occasions, Murray winning six of those matches with Seppi winning just one. Their most recent matchup came in Davis Cup 2014 where Murray (GBR) defeated Seppi (ITA) in straight sets 6-4, 7-5, 6-3.

25th seed Seppi has a win-loss record of 7-3 in his past ten matches and is coming off a win in five sets over Borna Coric 4-6, 6-4, 6-7, 6-1, 6-1.
