Home town hero and third seed Andy Murray, looks to continue his Wimbledon 2015 campaign when he plays his fourth round match against the 23rd seed from Croatia Ivo Karlovic. Join The Roar for live scores of this match up from 11:30pm (AEST) or after the Williams’s sisters match on centre court.

Andy Murray, and not only for being the third seed, is expected to once again go deep into The Championships at Wimbledon. He plays quality tennis and his all round game is as solid as they come.

Realistically there are few players in the world who should challenge Murray, but he will have to be on his guard against Karlovic who has been playing some good tennis of late to get him the 23rd seed for Wimbledon.

Murray’s first three rounds have all been fairly dominant, one sided matches, throughout which he has only lost a single set to Andreas Seppi in the third round. In the game against Seppi, apart from the set he lost, he was incredibly dominant, only dropping four games across the sets he won.

Murray’s form in the lead up to Wimbledon was also good, winning every game he played on grass in the AGEON Tournament in London, all be it against lower ranked opponents than what he will come up against in the later stages of Wimbledon. He also was runner up at the Australian Open and semi-finalist at the French Open earlier this season.

Karlovic meanwhile has, what you would call, an average record at Wimbledon, his best effort being making the quarter finals on one occasion back in 2009. From ten attempts at The Championships he has also had five first round exits.

His career at Wimbledon and across all the Grand Slams since his first one in 2003 has been full of disappointment and he will be keen to try and go further this year.

In the first three rounds of action, Karlovic has had to work really hard for his victories. In the first two rounds he came up against much lower ranked players, as one would expect for a seed and won the matches in four and five sets respectively. The second round match against Alexandr Dolgopolov was an epic in particular, with Karlovic winning the fifth set 13 games to 11.

His third round was against Jo Wilfried Tsonga. That one was one he was expected to lose, however Karlovic managed to win in four sets, all coming in tie breakers.

This pair have matched up five times previously with Murray winning all the encounters. Their last meeting was in 2012 at Tokyo, Murray dominantly winning that one in straight sets. They have also faced off once at Wimbledon with Murray taking their second round 2012 match in four sets.

Prediction: It should be an interesting match and Karlovic looks to be in good form, particularly under pressure winning so many sets in tie breakers, however against a player of Murray’s calibre it will be a lot more difficult to recover from tough positions. He might pinch a set though.

Murray in four sets.
