Seven time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer continues his campaign with a fourth round match against the Spanish 20th seed Roberto Bautista Agut.

The difference in experience of these two players could be a major telling factor in this fourth-round match, particularly that of the two players experiences on the courts of Wimbledon.

Federer has won seven times on the grass of Wimbledon and competed a further nine times taking his total to 16 Wimbledon tournaments, his first way back in 1999. Agut meanwhile has only participated in 2 Wimbledon tournaments, a third round exit being his best ever performance.

In fact Agut has only played in 13 grand slams, three less tournaments than what Federer has played at Wimbledon.

Roger Federer, for the first time all tournament, looked a tiny, little bit challenged in the third round when he took on Australian Sam Groth. The first two rounds hardly made Federer raise a sweat as he won both matches against Damir Dzumhur and Sam Querrey in straight sets.

He has dropped an average of less than four games per set and was on fire. He did drop a set against Groth although still played exceptionally good tennis.

Roberto Bautista Agut, the 20th seed, has also been playing good tennis. He has had two straight-sets wins in the first and third rounds whilst he was taken to a five set epic in the second round against Benoit Paire.

The fact he managed to come back from being two sets down shows he is in decent enough form and will keep a level head under pressure.

Another thing to take into account heading into this fourth-round match will be the players’ form in the lead up to the Championships at Wimbledon. It differs incredibly, with Federer winning a tournament in Halle and beating some good players on the way, whilst Roberto Bautista Agut has only played one match on the grass, going down to Fernando Verdasco.

Throughout his career though Agut has won around two thirds of his games on the grass courts, meaning he is certainly no easy opponent for Federer at Wimbledon.

The pair have matched up on two previous occasions, Federer winning both in straight sets. Both matches came last year, just 37 days apart. In September, they matched up in the fourth round of the 2014 US Open with Federer winning that one 6-4, 6-3, 6-2. Their second match came in Shanghai, Federer winning that one 6-4, 6-2.

All in all it is pretty easy to see why Federer is being heavily backed as the favourite, with Agut a $13.00 outsider.

Prediction: Whilst it could be a close game, in reality the result should be an easy one to pick with Federer progressing to the quarter finals in dominating fashion.
