Corey Parker has been cleared by the NRL of biting Paul Gallen during the State of Origin decider with the NSW captain also saying there was nothing in the incident.

Images have emerged supposedly showing Parker biting down on Gallen’s arm during the closing stages of the first half of NSW’s 52-6 loss at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night.

Gallen pressed down with his forearm over the Queensland back-rower’s mouth which was open.

At the time, Gallen remonstrated with the referee, holding up his hand to the officials to show where he had allegedly been bitten.

The incident was examined by the NRL Match Review Committee and Parker was cleared of any wrong doing.

Also Gallen did not take the complaint further and on Thursday said he wanted to leave it on the field.

“It’s not an issue,” Gallen told Channel 9.

“It wasn’t brought up after the game. It’s not an issue for me.”

An NRL spokesman said it was not looking further into the incident.

“There was no official complaint from the player,” the spokesman said.

“Nevertheless, the Match Review Committee examined the entire sequence of play on video and determined there was no case to answer.”

Parker was named man of the series after helping the Maroons win back the Origin shield in the decider.
