Shaun Kenny-Dowall of the Sydney Roosters has been charged with repeatedly assaulting former partner Jessica Peris.
Peris submitted an Apprehended Violence Order earlier this week after the couple split up three weeks ago following an eighteen month relationship.
Police then charged Kenny-Dowall today with a number of domestic violence charges, including six counts of common assault, one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and stalking/intimidating.
He was charged with a total of 10 offences at Maroubra Police Station earlier this morning. He has been granted bail and is scheduled to appear in court on July 23.
The Roosters released a statement yesterday in relation to Peris’ AVO application stating: “The Sydney Roosters are aware of the allegations concerning Shaun Kenny-Dowall.
“As it is a police matter, the club will be making no further comment at this time.”
Jessica Peris is the daughter of Nova Peris, a former Olympic gold medallist who is now a Labor party senator.
