Sportswriters Brett McKay and Ryan O’Connell are both claiming to have punched a shark in Episode 81 of the Cheap Seats podcast.

#AskTheCheapSeats includes questions on golfer Soren Kjeldsen, Brad Haddin’s future in the Australian Test team, Steve Smith’s technique, Argentina’s scrum, and yet more questions about Michael Hooper and David Pocock in tandem.

On cricket, Australia have squared The Ashes series with a 405-run win in the Second Test at Lord’s, and with it, we’ve now seen a massive momentum swing in the series. Australia’s big guns fired, the new inclusions justified their selections, and suddenly, happily, all the pressure is very much back on England ahead of the Third Test at Edgbaston next week.

In other news, the Wallabies produced a heart-stopping, come-from-behind win over South Africa in Brisbane, this week’s ‘NRL Premiership Favourite’ is not quite as clear as last week, Hawthorn have one hand on the AFL cup, and in the biggest, scariest sporting moment of the weekend, Mick Fanning punched a shark.

Plus there’s a wrap-up of the Cheap Seats Tipping League, which you can still join for The Ashes and The Rugby Championship here.
