Parramatta are reportedly waiting for Chris Sandow to take $50,000 and walk away from the club for good.
News Corp Australia says the halfback, who is seeking an immediate release to English club Warrington, is still locked in a dispute over his exit payout due to problems relating to $200,000 in unpaid third-party agreements.
Sandow is in the sights of English club Warrington and has until July 25 – the Super League cut-off – to join the Tony Smith-coached Wolves.
Coach Brad Arthur changed his tune over the saga on the weekend, indicating the Eels are willing to grant Sandow’s request for an immediate release provided they aren’t left to pay out the final year of his lucrative NRL contract.
The troubled No.7’s NRL career could already be over given he faces up to three weeks on the sidelines for a shoulder charge on Brett Morris in Friday’s 28-4 loss to Canterbury.
He will be outed for a fortnight if he accepts an early guilty plea and three weeks should he unsuccessfully fight the charge at the judiciary on Wednesday night.
It comes days after the 26-year-old’s expletive-laden rant on social media following his poor performance against the Bulldogs and suggestions he’s lost the respect of Arthur and the playing group.
