The Rabbitohs have been plagued by inconsistency this season, but a good win last time out over the Dragons has them a game clear in fourth place. Having said that, it’s still hard to determine which Rabbitohs’ side will show up for a game, as they have had bad losses to the last-place Wests Tigers and the struggling Panthers in recent weeks. They’ll need to find consistency if they want a serious tilt at back-to-back premierships, and a good home win over the Knights will be a good place to start.

The Knights have had one of the stranger seasons in recent memory. After leading the competition after four rounds, the Knights fell all the way to foot of the ladder, and it was only a win over the Titans last weekend that saw them get away from the bottom. Still, this will be a completely different challenge for the Novocastrians, a team that is still in 14th position on the ladder. A win over the Rabbitohs would get them two games clear of the wooden spoon position, so the Knights still have something to play for.

The Rabbitohs have made one change for this game, as they’ll welcome hooker Issac Luke back from suspension. He replaces Cameron McInnes in the side. There is also a chance that Kyle Turner could return from a neck injury this weekend, after getting through a full game in the NSW Cup last weekend.

The Knights have named one change, with Adam Clydsdale returning from a shoulder injury to replace the injured Tyler Randall. There could be two late changes for the Knights however, as both Dane Gagai and Akuila Uate are considered unlikely to suit up for this one.

Prediction

The Knights looked good for the first time in a long time last weekend, but the Rabbitohs are still better. The return of Issac Luke should pay massive dividends for the premiers, and they should waltz to an easy victory here.
