Match Preview:

The International Champions Cup continues tonight as winners of the Australian competition Real Madrid head to China to face off against Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan. Join The Roar from 9:45pm (AEST) for live scores and coverage.

Real Madrid’s pre-season didn’t get off to the best of starts, with Rafa Benitez’s men failing to capitalise on chances against Roma, and ultimately losing in penalties. With the majority of the squad changing throughout the match, Real Madrid couldn’t gel as quickly as we’d hoped.

Against Manchester City, Benitez started the three attackers that everyone wanted to see, and Real Madrid dominated proceedings winning 4-1, with some spectacular skills showcased from Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

Real Madrid’s midfield has also been extremely strong during pre-season. We’ve seen plenty of changes in the middle of the park, but the best combinations seem to come from Isco, Toni Kroos and Luka Modric, with Bale and Ronaldo pushing out wide.

Danilo and Raphael Varane have also looked strong for Madrid in defence, and are always great to watch.

Inter are in for a challenge, though have made a decent start to pre-season preparations despite losing both matches. Against Bayern, Inter were dominated, though kept the German champions at bay for the majority of the match, with a solo goal from Mario Gotze the decider.

Inter aren’t of the same class as Real Madrid, though will certainly put up a good show, as their Serie A rivals Roma did in Australia. Mauro Icardi, Jeison Murillo and Yuto Nagatomo have played well so far in pre-season, along with Samuele Longo up front.

But once again all eyes will be on the stars of Real Madrid, with this side looking to be a strong contender for the La Liga title, as well as the Champions League trophy this season.

Prediction:
Expect Real Madrid to dominate tonight, with hopefully plenty of goals similar to the Manchester City display in Australia.
