TWO GOOD! Zahra wins back-to-back Melbourne Cups on Without a Fight as three horses pull up lame

The spring preparation for many horses starts this Friday, with a blockbuster set of trials at Royal Randwick.
The trials will feature a host of star gallopers, with some of the best three-year-olds in the country to have their first trial since going for a spell.
There will also be star two-year-olds and older horses going around as well.
The first race kicks off at 8:15am and features Porchinet, who finished off last preparation with an emphatic win in the Group 1 Doomben Cup and has been tipped for big things in the spring. Other notable horses in the race include The Offer and Woodbine.
A few imports take the stage in the second race. I haven’t heard too much about any of them, so keep an eye out to see if there are any worth following.
A really nice field assembles in the third race, with Group 2 winner Temple of Boom to take on Sweynesse and the old stayer Precedence. Adrift and Amanpour from Gai Waterhouse are two runners I will be keeping an eye on.
Cosmic Endeavour and Kermadec are the picks of race four, but it is a talented field with Thunder Lady, Fuerza and Kirramosa also worth having a look at.
2014 Golden Slipper winner Vancouver looks the pick out of the fifth trial but it is an outstanding field with Haptic, Furnaces, Exosphere and Clash of Clans all competing.
There are plenty of talented two-year-olds in races six, seven and eight. It’s hard to gauge at this early stage who is worth following so hopefully the trials help sort out the pecking order.
There isn’t too much excitement then until the 18th trial of the day, with English set to be the pick of the bunch.
Those are the horses I will be keeping an eye on, but are there any others we should be looking at on Friday’s trials?
