Arsenal defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin showed us yet again that he is definitely a world-class ball winner.

The French international impressed against third placed Liverpool in an intriguing 0-0 draw which saw many chances for both sides.

Coquelin won five out of five challenges and made 76 passes (90 per cent accuracy). The youngster made a cracking tackle on Brazilian Philippe Coutinho in the first half and another almost identical challenge on Christian Benteke to deny a possible goal.

If you watch Coquelin play, there will not be a time where you see him slowly trotting around the pitch. The midfielder is constantly running and I would love to know the distance he covers in most games.

I think it is fair to say Coquelin has achieved a first team position over possibilities of any other young defensive midfielders like Krystian Bielik.

Coquelin is a brilliant player due to his knowledge and understanding of the game. We see Thierry Henry and Alan Smith really magnify Coquelin because of his basic knowledge of things like tracking, when to go into a challenge and even delaying the counter attack of the opposition.

When a former player like Henry is praising the ability of a man in his early 20s, you must think there is a bright future ahead of him.
