Wests Tigers captain Robbie Farah has been given permission to negotiate with other NRL for next season, despite having two years to go on his contract.

While this doesn’t guarantee Farah will be leaving the club, it’s a strong indication that, whether by his own choice or by the club’s pushing, the man who has led the club for eight years is on the way out.

So we put it to you Roarers, where do you think Robbie Farah will play in 2016?

If he does choose to take up a contract elsewhere, where does he go, and who needs a player of Farah’s quality.

Hooker is a funny position, in that there are many different styles, but Farah is a genuine superstar.

He’s creative, intelligent and hard working – a tremendous combination. He makes over 40 tackles in most games he plays in, as well as taking plenty of pressure off his halves with his playmaking and kicking ability around the rucks.

Along with Cameron Smith, he is probably the game’s best.

As such, we can rule out the Storm making a play for Farah. And with Michael Ennis on their books, Cronulla have the league’s other premier hooker, so they’re also out.

If Parramatta are actually still in trouble then they might want to make do with Nathan Peats. If they’re not, they should still make do with Nathan Peats.

The Warriors have already bought Issac Luke for 2016, so that rules them out.

The Broncos have re-signed Andrew McCullough, so probably don’t need a similar, albeit superior, player.

The most likely suspects would seem to be clubs in Sydney. South Sydney and Canterbury come to mind. Souths lose Luke at the end of this year, while the Dogs lost Michael Ennis last year.

Or perhaps the Dragons? Mitch Rein is entrenched there, but may have to be retrenched to put the Benji-Farah combination back together.

Could Farah move to Queensland? The Titans are yearning for a player of his quality. And North Queensland could use him to take responsibility away from Johnathan Thurston.

Perhaps Manly, who have told Matt Ballin he is not required next year?
