Match Preview:

A struggling Chelsea will be desperate for another win when they host Crystal Palace, who have had a dream start to their English Premier League campaign. Join The Roar from 12 midnight (AEST) for live scores of this clash.

Chelsea’s win away from home last week against West Bromwich Albion was anything but convincing. The Blues scraped past West Brom 3-2 in a game where goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois’ early save secured the three point for Jose Mourinho’s men.

To add to the blues, skipper John Terry found himself sent off, and Chelsea were forced to defend their lead with just 10 men. Terry will miss the clash against Crystal Palace due to the one-game suspension.

Not all bad news for Chelsea however, former Barcelona star Pedro’s debut for the club was a success, the 28-year-old Spaniard causing all sorts of problems for the West Brom defence, as he scored in his debut appearance for the club.

Manager Jose Mourinho celebrates a milestone, as this fixture marks his 100th home game in charge of Chelsea, during which time he has only lost one home game.

Crystal Palace are in unfamiliar territory – after three games they find themselves in fifth position, with their only loss coming at the hands of Arsenal due to a Damien Delaney own goal in the second half.

Palace are coming off a 4-1 League Cup win over Shrewsbury Town, which wasn’t as convincing as it sounds, with three extra-time goals sealing the result.

Palace have a tough few weeks ahead, facing Chelsea followed by Manchester City and Tottenham.

“We are having a tough start to the season in respect of fixtures but we have points on the board,” defender Scott Dann said on the club’s website.

“We now have six points from three games and that is including having played Arsenal at home but we will take this performance into the Chelsea game and hopefully get a good result in our match next week.”

Prediction
Despite being without Terry, Chelsea should get the result, but it might not be as easy as the odds suggest.

Chelsea 2 – 1 Crystal Palace
