After a loss at the hands of the Swans in the Battle of the Bridge, the Giants are unable to qualify for the top eight but will want to finish the year on a high as they prepare for 2016.

Carlton last week defeated the Demons in an outstanding upset and will want to thank interim coach John Barker for his efforts with a strong finish to the season after it was announced Hawthorn assistant Brendan Bolton would take on the role of head coach for season 2016. Added to this, many of the Carlton side are playing to secure their futures at the club.

In recent weeks Jeremy Cameron has lacked opportunities, but the best young forward in the AFL is in a great position to surpass his 2013 tally of 62 goals, heading into this week with 54.

The Giants and Blues have played each other four times since GWS’s inclusion in 2012, with both winning two games apiece. Their most recent encounter came in Round 7, when the Giants recorded a massive win over the Blues 19.21 (135) – 9.3 (57). It was GWS’s highest ever score, breaking their previous of 125 against the Lions in 2014. Their winning margin of 78 points also beat the record they had set just three weeks earlier against the Suns at Manuka Oval, whom they beat by 66 points.

Prediction
GWS will power past the hapless Blues.

Giants by 41 points.
