Perth Spirit host their first home game of the 2015 against a North Harbour Rays side who will be smarting after a see-sawing loss last week.

Join us for live scores of the NRC match from 5:30pm AEST, and drop a comment in the box if you’re following along.

This week should be another entertaining encounter in the NRC. The Perth Spirit took it to the reigning champions Brisbane City last weekend in a replay of last year’s grand final.

They look to have one of the more solid defences in the comp, and will likely test the resolve of North Harbour with another starchy performance.

North Harbour showed their ability to put on plenty of points against the Sydney Stars last weekend, with their backs combining for some attractive moves.

The Stars backed up their win against the Rays with another against Queensland Country, so the fact these two teams come into this one as losers won’t mean we’re in for a poor quality game.

Expect the Spirit to get the better of the forward battles and the breakdown, with players like Heath Tessman, Angus Cottrell and Chris Alcock all immense at this level.

In another added boost to the Spirit side, we will see the return of Kyle Godwin to competitive rugby.

Godwin was injured during the Super Rugby season and missed plenty of footy since, but is one of the West’s brightest prospects at inside centre.

His matchup against opposite Tom Hill is sure to be a belter.

For the Rays to have a hope in this one, the Holmes, Luke and Josh, are going to have to stand up and be counted. They are the Rays’ two most decorated players and will need to make it count if they want to get the W.
