The Adelaide Crows are a serious finals threat

The Adelaide Crows have always been around the finals mark over the last few years, just missing out on September football. But this year, it’s a different story.

The Crows have locked themselves into the finals by winning their last three games.

They started off by beating a red hot Richmond team who had just beaten the reigning premiers, Hawthorn. They showed guts and determination and were able to come up with a comfortable 36-point win.

They also defeated the Dons and Lions. Both teams are obviously down low in the ladder but Adelaide were able to play their best footy and beat Essendon by 112 and Brisbane by 87. Right now, they are playing their best footy of the season and it looks like they are going to be hard to stop.

After the tragic death of their coach Phillip Walsh, some people thought – including myself – that Adelaide may not win another game for the rest of the season. The following match was cancelled against the Geelong Cats and then they were thrashed by the Eagles in Perth. The crowd have fought and fought to get to the position where they are.

The Crows deserve to be in the finals and they can play unbelievable footy when they bring it, the problem is that they don’t bring it all the time. They have lost games this year to the Hawks and Fremantle by little margins and that certainly wasn’t their best footy. I’d be watching out for the Crows when it comes to September.

All this speculation about Dangerfield has helped this team a lot. Dangerfield is in the best form of his life and he is basically carrying the team with big efforts from the Crows’ youngsters such as Rory Atkins, Riley Knight and Jarryd Lyons.

The Crows are an awesome team to watch and I’d love to see them go deep into September. It will be interesting to see how they play against the Eagles tomorrow knowing they are already in the finals. If they win both of these last two games, they can get themselves a home final.

The Crows are a real threat in this competition. I am curious to see how they play in the finals and hope that they bring their best, and if they do they can beat anyone.
