The last time these two teams met was back in Round 1, and it was an arm wrestle as soon as the ball was bounced at Domain Stadium.

Fremantle ended up winning by 7 points to set up a nine-game winning streak.

As a result of up to 11 Fremantle players possibly being rested, including the whole midfield, this will be a test of how the youngsters stack up against a fast-running and attacking Port Adelaide.

Ninth-placed Port, who have been disappointing compared to their 2014 breakout season, need to make a statement to the footy world by not letting Fremantle get off lightly.

It is foreseeable that the result will be similar to when Fremantle rested 11 players against St Kilda in Round 23, 2013, where the Saints dominated the match to win by 71 points.

On paper, the battle in the midfield will favour Port Adelaide, and the home team need to make this a reality. Port Adelaide’s forwards also need to shine, especially Jay Schultz, who may well be playing his last game for the Power, as Fremantle are displaying increasing interest in snapping him up.

No matter what, it will be good experience for the Fremantle players who step up.

Prediction
Port Adelaide by 76 points.
