Novak Djokovic will be looking to claim his second US Open title since 2011 and should progress to the quarter-finals with ease. The only problem for the Serbian will be coming up against top seeds as he has struggled in recent weeks.

Djokovic is the first seed and has a 8-2 win-loss record in his last ten matches with consecutive straight set wins at New York over Joao Souza (6-1, 6-1, 6-1; Round 1), Andreas Haider-Maurer (6-4, 6-1, 6-2; Round 2) and Andreas Seppi (6-3, 7-5, 7-5; Round 3). His only losses came at the finals of Cincinnati and Canadian at the hands of second seed Roger Federer and third seed Andy Murray respectively.

The only way to beat Djokovic is to play a perfect match and that is exactly what Roberto Bautista Agut will have to do. It may seem impossible but is not entirely off the cards for the Spaniard after winning the first two sets of his match against 14th seed David Goffin.

Bautista Agut is seeded at 23, and has cruised through with a win in straight sets over Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the first round 6-3, 6-2, 7-6, a second round win over Pablo Carreno Busta 4-6, 6-4, 6-0, 2-6, 6-4 and a third round forced retirement against David Goffin. He has a win-loss record of 6-4 in his last ten matches.

Djokovic and Bautista Agut have played each other twice, the Serbian first seed winning on both occasions at Dubai 2013 in straight sets 6-1, 7-6 and at the same venue in 2014 6-1, 6-3.

Prediction
Djokovic will ease his way through to the quarter-finals in straight sets.
