The Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs duke it out under the lights of Monday Night Football, as Green Bay hopes to keep their winning streak alive. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 10:30am (AEST).

The Packers have started the season 2-0, and will look to go into Week 4 without a loss on the season as they host the Chiefs at home. Despite the Packers being clear favourites, it’s interesting to note that in the ten times the Chiefs and Packers have played against each other, Green Bay has never won at home against the Chiefs. Do we have a possible upset special on the cards?

Aaron Rodgers has been playing at his usual MVP level in the first two games. Against the Bears, he completed 18 of 23 passes for 189 yards and three touchdowns. Against the Seahawks, he finished with 25 of 33 for 249 yards and two touchdowns. He’s been getting it done with his feet too, notching 14 carries and 58 yards over the first two games.

They have good depth on the ground with Eddie Lacy putting up a big performance in the first game (19 carries, 85 yards, TD) and James Starks delivering in the second (20 carries, 95 yards). Randall Cobb has proved himself to be one of the best receivers in the league, catching a touchdown in the first game and finishing with eight catches for 116 yards in the second.

Of course, the only thing preventing this team from winning today will be the health of the players, and a number of key players for the Packers are injured. Tackle Bryan Bulaga (knee) and cornerback Demetri Goodson (hamstring) are both out.

Wide receiver Davante Adams (ankle), running back Eddie Lacy (anke) and linebacker Mike Neal (groin) are all questionable to play. Safeties Morgan Burnett (calf), Sean Richardson (ankle) and running back Aaron Ripkowski (shoulder) all are questionable to play, and none of them participated in practice. Wide receiver Randall Cobb (shoulder) is probable.

The Chiefs are looking to rebound after their loss to the Broncos. After a strong opening week performance against Houston where he threw for 243 yards and two touchdowns, Alex Smith regressed last week and finished with 191 yards and two interceptions. That poor play meant Jamaal Charles had to step up, running for 125 yards and a touchdown off 21 carries.

Charles is one of the league’s best running backs, but his two fumbles in last week’s game cost the Chiefs the win – literally. Denver recovered the fumble and returned it to the end zone with around 30 seconds left. Jeremy Maclin has yet to have a breakout game, but Travis Kelce played well against the Texans, catching six passes for 102 yards and two touchdowns.

The Chiefs have a number of players injured, but all are probable to play and participated fully in practice. The players are running back Charcandrick West (achilles), tight end Demetrius Harris (foot), linebacker Joshua Mauga (achilles), guard Jeff Allen (knee), tackles Eric Fisher (ankle) and Donald Stephenson (ankle) and wide receivers Jeremy Maclin (knee), Albert Wilson (shoulder) and De’Anthony Thomas (calf).

The Chiefs will battle with the Packers for four quarters, but this will finally be the day in which Green Bay triumphs over Kansas City at home. Aaron Rodgers will throw for 350+ yards and four touchdowns, with Randall Cobb catching two of them. Alex Smith will have over 300 yards of passing with one touchdown and two interceptions, with the touchdown being caught by Jeremy Maclin. Jamaal Charles will run for 150+ yards with two touchdowns.

Will Aaron Rodgers get his Packers to 3-0 and finally get a win over the Chiefs at home?
