The 2015 AFL grand final will be played between the Hawthorn Hawks and the West Coast Eagles at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, on Saturday, October 3. The first bounce is set to take place at 2:30pm (AEST).

AFL GRAND FINAL LIVE SCORES

Typically, the AFL grand final is played on the ‘last Saturday in September’. However, this year things are a little different, with the game moved to the first week of October to accommodate the Cricket World Cup earlier in the year.

The match begins at 2:30pm and will be televised live on Channel Seven, however Seven’s coverage will begin much earlier in the day, beginning with the grand final special of AFL Game Day at 9am. The coverage will continue until the post-match presentations.

The game will not be broadcast live on Foxtel, however FoxFooty will begin showing repeats of the game from 7pm (AEST).

This year’s finale is a rematch of the 1991 grand final, which was played at Waverley Park, and saw the Hawks defeat the Eagles in their first ever grand final appearance.

Hawthorn are searching for their third consecutive premiership, having defeated the Fremantle Dockers in 2013, and the Sydney Swans in 2014. They are playing in their fourth consecutive grand final, having lost to the Sydney Swans in 2012.

West Coast, on the other hand, are playing in their first grand final since they defeated the Sydney Swans by a single point in the 2006 decider. They have also won premierships in 1992 and 1994, for a total of three premierships in the club’s history.

It is the first time that coach Adam Simpson has made the grand final, and the first time in history that the club has made it to this match without the influence of John Worsfold, either as a player or as a coach.

Hawthorn are favourites, with betting odds of $1.60, while West Coast have some work to do in the eyes of punters with their odds at $2.40.
