The men in charge of officiating the semi-finals of the Rugby World Cup have been confirmed as Jerome Garces and Wayne Barnes.
France’s Garces will referee the first semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand, while England’s Barnes has been appointed to Australia’s match against Argentina.
Garces will be joined by fellow Frenchman, Romain Poite and Ireland’s John Lacey, while Australia’s George Ayoub has been appointed as TMO.
Barnes will be assisted by South Africa’s Jaco Peyper and Ireland’s George Clancy, with New Zealand’s Ben Skeen the TMO.
The notable absentee for the semi-final appointments in South Africa’s Craig Joubert, who has come under fire for an incorrect penalty decision during the dying stages of Australia’s quarter-final win against Scotland.
