Coming off a disappointing draw to Aston Villa in their last fixture, Manchester City will be eager to find the net when they host Liverpool.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men were deeply frustrated against Aston Villa at Villa Park, however after Arsenal drew with North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City found themselves staying at the top of the Premier League table.

Pellegrini will also be without star midfielder Samir Nasri, the Frenchman is still injured and will be out until next year with a hamstring injury.

However, Manchester City will have history on their side, the Citizens have won four and lost none of their past six matches against Liverpool at the Etihad.

After a disappointing 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace in their last fixture, Jürgen Klopp will be looking to get his Liverpool side back to their winning ways.

The Reds were downed by a late goal from Scott Dann, which put them seven points off the top four.

Liverpool striker Philippe Coutinho will be looking to extend his goalscoring tally against Manchester City; he has scored three times in four games against the Citizens.

The last time these two sides faced off was back in March. City striker Eden Dzeko cancelled out Jordan Henderson’s early goal for Liverpool, however Coutinho found the net late in the game to earn all three points for the Reds.

Both sides will be looking for a win, however it will come down to which side can find their shooting form first.

Prediction: Manchester City 1 -1 Liverpool
