At long last we are at the conclusion of the 2015 Formula One season, with Round 19 of the championship being held in the twilight of Abu Dhabi. Join The Roar for live coverage from 12:00 am (AEDT) on Monday morning.

With the main championships having been sewn up, there is still much to be contested in the minor placings at the Yas Marina circuit – built on the man-made colossus of beauty that is Yas Island.

The 5.5km circuit possesses the typical Tilke technicalities, with a flowing first sector leading onto the longest straight on the entire calendar, followed by twisty and complex second and third sectors.

55 laps will be contested during the race that starts under the sun and finishes under lights. For the first time also the super-soft tyres will debut at the Abu Dhabi event, along with the usual softs.

Super-softs should tout aggressive strategy, however, the cooler temperatures under lights mean that tyre management isn’t as intense.

The opportunity is here for Nico Rosberg to claim his first career hat-trick of wins, building upon the momentum of his wins in Mexico and Brazil.

But will Mercedes AMG allow their drivers to engage in a proper fight?

Lewis Hamilton, of course, is two-time a winner here.

In terms of the minor championship placings, fourth position is separated by a mere point. The Finns in Valtteri Bottas and Kimi Räikkönen will aim to take that glory.

The two Red Bull teammates have 10 points between them, with Daniil Kvyat currently bettering his more experienced stablemate in Daniel Ricciardo.

Down in tenth position, Nico Hulkenberg has Max Verstappen and the outgoing Lotus driver in Romain Grosjean in close company.

Overhauling 13 points for Verstappen would be a monumental achievement in his stellar rookie season, whilst the same amount for Grosjean would be a fitting swansong to his lengthy tenure at Enstone before the move to Haas.

McLaren also has a glimmer of hope in their torrid campaign to strip Sauber of eighth in the standings, with a total of 9 points to claw back.

Much emphasis has been placed on whether we will get a cracking finale and if the super-soft tyres (as they’ve traditionally done this season) give Ferrari that little boost, there is a chance for competition at the front.

Sebastian Vettel is, of course, the most successful driver with a total of three wins, whilst Räikkönen has that famous victory from 2012 for Lotus.
And of course, will Rosberg and Hamilton lock horns?
