WATCH: Ice hockey player's throat sliced open during match

A stray Ladislav Nagy skate has led to one of the more gruesome injuries this year.

In a Kontinental Hockey League match, Vitali Sitnikov’s throat was sliced open causing him to collapse on the bench when Nagy’s blade connected with the 34-year-old.

A tremendous stroke of luck however, meant that the laceration missed the artery and he avoided serious injury.
