Australian teenager Jack Hale won the Under 18 Australian All Schools Championships 100m final in Melbourne to remain the country’s fastest schoolboy.

Hale, who holds the national Under 18 record of 10.42 seconds couldn’t quite go that fast in the heat, but still managed an easy win in a time of 10.56.

“If everything went right I was hoping to break the national record, but it didn’t happen so I will have one more competition to do so,” Hale said after the race.
