Ronda Rousey has broken her silence after being knocked out by Holy Holm at UFC 193, in an interview with ESPN The Magazine.

Rousey had been radio silent since the defeat, only emerging on social media to assure the public her health was fine, but in a tell-all interview the former champ revealed that she is still struggling both mentally and physically with the loss.

“I’m really f***ing sad,” said Rousey, who also revealed that Holm’s destructive KO kick had loosened her two teeth to the point that “it might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact.”

This means that the July UFC 200 event, tentatively touted as the date for the Holm (10-0 MMA, 3-0 UFC) vs Rousey (12-1 MMA, 6-1 UFC) rematch appears long odds, even though UFC president Dana White said an immediate rematch would be the most logical option.

Despite the challenging mental and physical hurdles, and enormous backlash Rousey received on social media following the loss, she is determined to taste success again.

“Maybe I can’t do it all before my prime, before my body is done,” she said. “But f*** it, maybe I can.”

The interview will be released next Tuesday.
