With the majority of the third Test against the West Indies washed out, spectators have received a reprieve from both the weather gods and the SCG itself, with the clear skies prompting officials to offer free entry for Day 5 of the Test.

Punters who purchased tickets on or prior to January 6 will also be eligible for a full refund.

Internet and phone bookings made by credit card will be automatically refunded, refunds will also be available at allocated ticket windows at the ground during play. Alternatively, patrons can apply for a refund by mailing their tickets to:

Despite the series having already been wrapped up by Australia, there is sure to be plenty of action today. West Indies coach Phil Simmons has ruled out a double declaration, which means we’re virtually guaranteed to see a draw. However, with the West Indies starting the day with three wickets in hand in their first innings, neither side’s batsmen will be shy – it could be a T20-style afternoon of slogging.

Play resumed at 11:45am, and with 79 overs hoped to be squeezed in, it could yet be a good afternoon out at the cricket.

Hey, at least the price is right!
