World No.1 Novak Djokovic will look to continue his complete dominance over Andreas Seppi in the third round of the 2016 Australian Open. Join The Roar for live scores from 7pm (AEDT) on the Margaret Court Arena.

Novak Djokovic has not lost a match in 2016. In fact, he hasn’t lost a set, recording straight set victories in Qatar against Dustin Brown, Fernando Verdasco, Leonardo Mayer, Thomas Berdych and Rafael Nadal.

He then has come to the Australian Open and kept that form up not dropping a set in his first two rounds. First up was a convincing wins against Hyeon Chung, followed by Quentin Halys, although Halys did manage to take him all the way to a tie-breaker in the third set.

Djokovic’s game is just about flawless and no one of the World Tour can, or has been able to for over a year been able to match him.

Seppi, on the other hand, has had mixed form but well below what he would have expected. His first tournament was in Doha where he was knocked out in the first round after three sets against Richard Berankis. He then went along to the Sydney International where he recorded a strong victory against Dennis Istomin and then an equally poor loss against Frenchmen Nicholas Mahut.

The 28th seed for the Australian Open has then gone on to defeat Teimuraz Gabashvili in the first round after a four-set match, before he demolished Mirza Basic, only dropping seven games across a straight sets thrashing.

All in all, though, Seppi really needs to be improving his level of play to match is with other players who are seeded around him, let alone the likes of Djokovic.

Djokovic and Seppi have matched up 12 times previously, with Djokovic winning every single match. In fact across those 12 matches, Seppi has only won four sets, with two of them coming in the same game when the pair matched up at the French Open in 2012.

Their last meeting was in fact at the third round of the 2015 US Open, when Djokovic won in straight sets. The pair have never faced off at the Australian Open.

Prediction
It would take a madman to tip against Djokovic here. Seppi would need the perfect game, and Djokovic one of his worst for this to even be close. In fact, it is difficult to see Seppi even taking a set.

Djokovic in three sets.
