Mitchell Pearce’s NRL career is in tatters, with Channel Nine airing footage of the Roosters co-captain simulating a sex act with a small dog at an Australia Day house party.

In the footage, shot by a fellow party-goer, a clearly intoxicated and shirtless Pearce approaches a female and tries to kiss her. She rebukes him, saying “I’m a lesbian.”

Pearce soon responds, “I’ll f*** that dog, I don’t give a f***. I don’t have a sexuality.” He then turns his attention on the host’s Maltese terrier, picking it up and performing the act.

It’s worth noting that his pants do stay on the whole time – we’re not talking Joel Monaghan levels of dog sex-acts (isn’t it great we’ve got a point of reference for this?).

At this point the host of the party intervenes, saying, “No, that’s my dog. Woah woah woah. No. No, no, off limits,” before taking the dog away from Pearce.

“Did you just pee?” she asks (Mitch, not the dog), before saying, “Stop. Please. No… Get out. Out. Out.

“Last straw. Out.”

Mitch’s adroit, reasonable and suave response?

“I wanna f*** a dog, I don’t even care anymore.”

“I care. You’ve peed on my couch, you’ve peed on yourself,” the party host replies. “Get the f*** out.”

The Roosters have released a short statement tonight, which reads as follows:

“The Sydney Roosters are aware of an incident involving Mitchell Pearce.

“The club has advised the NRL’s Integrity Unit.

“The club will conduct an internal investigation and will be making no further comment at this time.”

While it’s too early to guess what the outcome of the Roosters and NRL’s investigations will be, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Pearce’s contract torn up, given he has been in trouble on the booze before.

In 2014 the Roosters fined their halfback $20,000 after a night out in Kings Cross saw him arrested after being rebuked by a woman in a yellow dress.
