The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to make it three wins in a row under new coach Tyronn Lue when they face the Detroit Pistons on the road. Join The Roar for live scores from the game starting at 11:30am AEDT.

The Cavaliers have played three matches since they sensationally sacked coach David Blatt mid-season despite holding the best record in the Eastern Conference, and promoted Lue to the top job.

Lue’s coaching debut was a disappointing loss to the Chicago Bulls which saw the Cavs go down by 13 points at home – just their third home loss for the season.

In the week since however they’ve had a home win against the Minnesota Timberwolves (114-107) and a win on the road against the Phoenix Suns (115-93).

This week they come up against the Detroit Pistons, sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 25-21 record, seven wins behind the 32-12 Cavaliers.

The Pistons have a 15-7 record at home and are coming into the match on a two-game winning streak, with victories on the road against the Utah Jazz (95-92) and at home against the Phildelphia 76ers (110-97).

Their last loss was against the Denver Nuggets on the road (101-104).

It’s the second time these two teams have clashed this season after the first meeting, in November last year, saw the Cavaliers go down by five points on the road. The teams will play twice more before the season is out.

Recent form aside the Cavaliers have been hard to beat at home this year but their away record has been spotty, and this could be a danger game for them. If they lose it will be their third defeat in seven matches, a worrying sign for a conference-leading team.

They host the San Antonio Spurs tomorrow and will want to enter that match with the confidence that comes from a win.

Prediction: The Cavaliers should get it done, but it’s a danger game. Cavaliers by 4.
