Match result:

Arsenal had plenty of chances, but were kept out time and time again by brilliant defending from Southampton.

The biggest hero for the Saints however will be goalkeeper Fraser Forster, who made save after save to deny the Gunners.

Arsenal now drop to fourth position on the Premier League table, and go three games in the competition without scoring, the first time they have done so since 2009.

Southampton disappoint the Gunners once again, the final score at the Emirates, Arsenal nil, Southampton nil.

Final score:
Arsenal 0
Southampton 0

After a hard 1-nil loss to Chelsea, Arsenal bounced back from three winless games with an FA Cup win over Burnley, with Calum Chambers and Alexis Sanchez both finding the net.

Having given up two chances to top the Premier League table, Arsene Wenger’s must prove they have what it takes to win the title.

Buoying their chances of a win today is that Sanchez has scored in both his home appearances against the Saints.

After an inconsistent start to the season, Southampton have secured three straight wins, conceding no goals in those.

The Saints are coming off a 1-nil win over Manchester United, in which Charlie Austin scored late to stun the Red Devils at Old Trafford, seeing Southampton climb to eighth on the table.

Austin has a history of terrorising the big teams, scoring twice in two appearances against the Gunners.

The last time these two sides faced off, in December, Cuco Martina, Shane Long and Jose Fonte all chipped in to see the Saints demolish Arsenal 4-nil.
