The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to get back on the winner’s list when they host the Boston Celtics on Saturday (AEDT). Join The Roar for live scores from the game, beginning at 11:30am (AEDT).

The Cavaliers saw a five-match winning streak come to an end in their last game when they went down to the Charlotte Hornets on the road, losing the match 97-106.

Before that they’d enjoyed a strong patch of form under new coach Tyronn Lue defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves (114-107), Phoenix Suns (115-93), Detroit Pistons (114-106), San Antonio Spurs (117-103) and Indiana Pacers (111-106).

Three of those wins including the most impressive one against the Spurs came at home but the loss to the Hornets, placed ninth in the Eastern Conference, has again thrown doubt on the Cavaliers’ ability to win away form home.

The Cavaliers are just 16-10 on the road compared to an impressive 19-3 record at home where they have only recorded losses to the Golden State Warriors, Washington Wizards and Chicago Bulls.

They remain on top of the Eastern Conference, two games ahead of the Toronto Raptors, and their .729 percentage is still the fourth-best in the NBA.

The Celtics come into this match with a streak of two consecutive wins under their belts, and seven from their last eight.

Their most recent loss came on the road against the Orlando Magic (114-119), and they’ve had wins against the New York Knicks (97-89) and the Detroit Pistons (102-95) in the time since then.

They’re currently fourth in the Eastern Conference but there’s a significant gap at the moment between the top two teams and the rest of the conference. The Celtics are 7.5 games behind the Cavaliers on the table.

The two teams have met once so far this season with Cleveland claiming an 89-77 win over the Celtics on the road.

Prediction: The Celtics have been in improved form lately but the Cavaliers should prove too strong at home. Cavaliers by 10 points.
