Your say: Who wins Super Bowl 50?

Roarers, there’s not long now until the Super Bowl kicks off, and considering I have absolutely no idea, I was interested in everyone’s thoughts on who will get up in Super Bowl 50.

While it might seem arbitrary, half century games and the like do take on an enhanced meaning. The Super Bowl can’t really get any bigger, so it could be the exception to the rule, but I’m keen to hear your thoughts on that too.

Are the Panthers just too good this year, or can Peyton’s Denver Broncos deliver Manning the Elder his second Super Bowl victory?

In the office, things are divided. Riordan Lee think’s Peyton’s love of losing Super Bowls will outweigh the quality of the Broncos’ defence. He’s on Carolina.

Tristan Rayner also likes the Panthers, while Joe Frost love the fairytale idea of Peyton getting up.

The big boss, Zac Zavos knows who the Denver Broncos are, and had no idea where the Panthers were from. By default, he’s supporting the Broncos.

Me? Don’t ask me. I have no idea.

Roar regular and today’s live blogger Andrew Kitchener also has some choice words:

“I’m wondering if Manning hasn’t played his Super Bowl two weeks early in beating Brady and the Patriots. With no run game to speak of, Denver’s offence is on Manning’s shoulders and I’m not sure that he can shoulder the load. Five years ago? No worries. In 2016? I can’t see it happening, unfortunately.

“Carolina, whose defence, led by superstar linebacker, Luke Kuechly, has allowed less than 65 rushing yards per game these playoffs, forced seven turnovers against Carolina in the NFC Championship game, reminds me plenty of the Seattle squad who dominated the Super Bowl two years ago, routing – yep, you guessed it – Manning and the Broncos.”

Alright Roarers, I’m throwing it over to you. Who gets up today? I’ll update this article with the best comments down below, to capture that community spirit.

UPDATE: Josh pulls out the Simpsons reference, and the smackdown in the comments:

“On form it’d have to be the Panthers.

“Their win would be the changing of the guard.

“I know there’d be people wanting Peyton to go out a winner. but I think the Broncos are up against it today.

“If they do win it does provide the opportunity to use the classic Simpson’s reference, “The Denver Broncos..””

Nate continues the Carolina love, but doesn’t rule out the Broncos. Good bit of head vs heart going on internally here!

“Carolina are rightfully favourites but I am not ruling my Broncos out. That defense is great and I have supreme confidence that our cover guys can lock down their receivers. That means there will be a lot on Cam’s shoulders for the Panthers to win.”

Costa is on the Broncos! Finally, someone bucking the trend. Yes that was the worst pun around.

“Going with my Broncos in a tight one. Hoping that the D can contain Cam and then Peyton has one last rodeo on the biggest stage. All comes down to how clean he is with the ball and limiting the turnovers. It is a great story regardless of who wins though and you couldn’t begrudge the Panthers a victory given the superb season that they have had.”
