Sri Lanka look to wrap up their Twenty20 series against India, with a game to play after a dominating victory in the first match a few days ago. Join The Roar for live scores of the match from 1am (AEDT).

The first match of the series, played in Pune saw Sri Lanka take a commanding 5 wicket victory, on the back of a cracking effort in the field.

After Dinesh Chandimal won the toss and put India into bat, they went onto knock them over for just 101 runs in 18.5 overs. Despite the pitch being green, their bowlers stood up to the task of restricting a powerful batting order that had been in some good form.

Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a duck, before Shikhar Dhawan only got nine from 13 balls.

India were, at one point 6 for 53 from 9.4 overs, and only a gallant 31 from 24 balls for Ravi Ashwin brought them to a total worthy of any respect what so ever.

Kasun Rajitha was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 for 29 from four overs, while Thisara Perera was economical taking 0 for 10 from three overs and playing the restricting role.

In reply, Sri Lanka got off to a very shaky start, but Dinesh Chandimal scored a run-a-ball 35 to guide his troops to victory. Chamara Kapugedera and Milinda Siriwardana also chipped into the chase, giving Chandimal a middle order player to bat with and ensuring the pressure never became too great on the captain.

Chandimals’ knock was one of class, but the same can’t be said for Indian captain, MS Dhoni who was caught for two. Both captains seem to hold the key to their respective teams in this series, with a huge role to play with the bat.

In saying that, much of India’s success in Australia was due to the opening partnerships of Dhawan and Sharma, who clearly were under the pump during game one.

Prediction
I would expect India to bounce back here. They were expected to win the series, maybe even inside the first two games so it would be surprising to see them lose two straight, especially when you consider the form they were in away from home.
