Nick Kyrgios secured a maiden ATP title with a victory over Marin Čilić in Marseille and made fun of his limited French vocabulary in the process.
Kyrgios won 6-2 7-6 to secure the title and was given the opportunity to speak some French at the trophy presentation.
“Yeah my French isn’t too good,” Kyrgios admitted.
“I only know a couple of words so yeah Marin’s (Cilic) got that down pat so maybe he might have to teach me some french soon. But j’adore fromage.”
The ‘I love cheese’ in French received plenty of laughs from the Marseille crowd.
