There is a tipping competition on The Roar, full of rising sons. It’s been the ruin of many a poor boy and God, I know I’m one. Here are our expert NRL tips for Round 5.

Yes that’s right – an army of the uprising, a revolution of the people, The Crowd (YES YOU!), has taken the lead over the so-called NRL experts after four gruelling rounds of picks, tips and changings of the mind.

The crowd roars!

See what I did there?

And so it goes on, another week for you to prove your worth.

Manly-Warringah has won two in a row but can you tip them without Daly Cherry-Evans against a Souths side that regains Sam Burgess?

Are you game enough to put your money on the winless Sydney Roosters or crazy enough to take the up-and-down New Zealand Warriors in Gosford?

Cronulla should pip Wests Tigers at Campbelltown but are you certain James Tedesco and company won’t have something to say?

Surely Brisbane couldn’t possibly drop a derby match against a resurgent Gold Coast Titans at Cbus Super Stadium?

The choice is yours.

Good luck.

EVERY NRL GAME THIS SEASON WILL BE LIVE ON FOXTEL

Tips:
Rabbitohs, Broncos, Storm (Powerplay), Sharks, Cowboys, Roosters, Eels, Bulldogs.

“Great game to start the round with the return of Sam Burgess and his brother Tom to power the Bunnies past the DCE-less Sea Eagles,

“The Titans pinched one in Canberra after a totally inept second half from the Green Machine but the Broncos are a different prospect altogether. The Broncos to win and handsomely.

“The Eels’ defence has been truly amazing this season. Even with the return of Matt Moylan it’s hard to see the Panthers scoring enough points in this one

“Raiders rode their luck for three weeks and got away with three wins and a draw before terrible errors and penalties finally undid them on Saturday evening. The Dogs meanwhile are coming off the most emphatic of victories on Good Friday. This one may get very, very ugly.”

Tips:
Rabbitohs, Broncos, Storm, Sharks, Cowboys (Powerplay), Roosters, Eels, Bulldogs.

“I am expecting the Rabbitohs to lift this weekend with the return of Sam Burgess and let’s be honest, their performance could not be any worse than last weekend. I’m predicting the Rabbitohs to want revenge and to win by plenty.

“I do not envy any team that needs to face the Cowboys following their one point defeat to the Broncos last weekend. The Cowboys, like the Broncos are a class above all the other teams in the competition and should have no problem disposing of the Dragons.

“The Roosters have to win a game eventually… right? I keep tipping them and getting it wrong. So I’ll tip them again this week and hope that they can upset a Warriors team who finally proved that they can score plenty of points quickly.”

Tips:
Rabbitohs, Broncos (Powerplay), Storm, Sharks, Cowboys, Warriors, Eels, Bulldogs.

“The Storm got bullied up the centre by the Sharks, with Cam Smith getting singled out for special treatment. It worked. The Storm will bounce back at home to account for the Knights.

“Sharks and Tigers is anyone’s guess. Sharks defence has the edge though. I’m going the Sharks in a tight one.

“Bryce Cartwright has been superb this year for the Panthers. If he doesn’t play it really hurts the Panthers, even with moylan returning.

“After last week’s pathetic capitulation to the Titans, I just can’t see the Raiders beating the red hot dogs at Belmore.”

Tips:
Rabbitohs, Broncos, Storm (Powerplay), Wests Tigers, Cowboys, Warriors, Eels, Bulldogs.

“New Zealand Warriors – you’re on notice. The Sydney Roosters are 0-4 and the Warriors finally came to life last weekend with a dominant second half performance. If the Warriors burn me in this one, I will never, ever tip them again (I mean it this time).

“Wests Tigers will have learnt plenty from their clash with Parramatta last weekend and face a similar defensive outfit in Cronulla-Sutherland. I was there at Campbelltown for Round 1 and felt the energy of the crowd and the team out on the field – feel like a bit of an upset is on the cards.

“The rest of the teams pick themselves but that rarely ever works out for tipsters in the NRL, does it?”.
